My real estate journey began in late 2018, during a time of major transition. Newly divorced and settling into a new town, I was simply looking for a fresh start. One day, I overheard an acquaintance mention a family member’s home that was for sale. The price seemed almost unbelievable, and with no real estate experience at the time, I brushed it off.

A few months later, that same friend showed me the property again—only this time, he and a coworker had purchased it, renovated it, and made an impressive profit. That moment sparked my curiosity. I started asking questions, learning everything I could, and eventually took my first steps into the world of home flipping.

The process was far more demanding and stressful than I expected. There were countless moving parts, many completely out of my control, but each challenge pushed me to grow. During that period, I met someone who introduced me to property management. Around the same time, I began noticing the commissions on my disclosures and asked myself a simple question: “Would I like to save that 6%?” The answer, of course, was yes.

In 2021, I passed the exam and became both a licensed real estate agent and a flipper. It’s been a rocky but rewarding journey—one that has brought me full circle. Now, back home, I’m excited to see what the future holds and ready to continue building in the place that means the most to me.
